Children's Home Offering

During the month of September we are collecting our annual offering for The United Methodist Children’s Home. This offering provides a significant portion of the operating income of the Children’s Home. The mission of The United Methodist Children’s Home is to provide redemptive, healing services that bring meaningful change to the lives of children and families. Won’t you join with us and create new dreams for the children, youth and families we serve? Special envelopes are available from the ushers or at the Welcome Center.

Upcoming Special Event

On Sunday, September 12 at 3:00 PM our Korean congregation will once again host their annual cultural event. This wonderful program has been held at Cornerstone the last two years. Because of the past years’ success, they are holding their performance at the Performing Arts Center on Lower Fayetteville Road. There will be an orchestra, dancing, solos and much more entertainment. If you have missed this in the past please join us this year, and if you have been in the past you will want to come and see this presentation on a large stage.

Family Fellowship Dinner

On Thursday, September 16, the CornerstoneKids preschool is hosting the first of three family fellowship potluck dinners. The evening will begin at 5:30 PM with a potluck dinner in the Narthex for parents and children. The preschool will provide plates, silverware, napkins, cups and drinks. Please bring your favorite dish to share. Following dinner, childcare will be provided for the children by the preschool, and Dr. Lewis Jackson, a long-time CornerstoneKids parent and local pediatrician, will present an informative session on healthy lifestyles for our children and our families. He will focus on healthy eating and the prevention of childhood obesity. A Q&A session will follow the presentation for parents to ask Dr. Jackson their questions. We hope you will mark your calendars now to join us for an evening filled with fellowship, dinner and information on how to live healthy.

Young at Heart on the Road Again

Remember the fun you had last year on our first bus trip? Remember the good food we had at The Smith House? Remember the good apples, apple cider, and the apple, cherry and peach pies we got to bring home? Well, we will do it again on Saturday, October 23. Mark your calendar now so you will not miss out on the fun, laughter, good food and a lot of fellowship. On the way to The Smith House, we will stop at the local outlet mall for some shopping.
