About River Of Life 2008

River of Life is a movement designed to help local homeowners with exterior repairs such as painting, roofing, wheelchair ramps, and porches. The work is mainly done by the volunteer youth of our community under the supervision of qualified adults.

Mission Statement
To share our faith of the Gospel of Jesus Christ while serving and making an impact on our community by preserving and revitalizing homes of those who are elderly, disabled, or of low-income status, who own their home but have needs that are beyond their means.

Purpose
To give free exterior repairs to existing homeowners and provide them a warm, safe, and dry environment so they may live with dignity and improve their quality of life.

Dates
From June 26-28, 2008, Cornerstone United Methodist Church, here in Coweta County, will be hosting this event. Youth and adults from several churches will be getting together to do these repairs for homeowners in need.

Support Redbird Mission

How Can I Support Redbird Mission in Kentucky Throughout the Year?

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY! For Redbird Mission and its staff, an intensely dedicated team and mission (since 1921).

JOIN THE TEAM There are teams that head to the Work Camp at Redbird in the spring (usually Spring Break) and the fall. The next trip is scheduled for April 5-11, 2009. Spots are still available. Cost is $250 for the week. A deposit of $125 is due by March 1. (All expenses are tax deductible).

FINANCE THE MISSION Sponsor a team member, donate money towards the materials for work projects, or visit www.rbmission.org for other monetary needs. If you or your Sunday School class would like to buy gas gift cards for the team members who will be driving, that would be super!

CUT BOX TOPS LABELS Redbird Christian School gets money for each Box Top for Education they turn in. Check the packaging on your cereals (General Mills), frozen foods, paper towels, Kleenex, etc. to see if it contains a Box Top. Cut them out and turn them in to the church office.

Meals on Wheels

This Coweta County program provides one hot meal per day at noon to homebound individuals. They are in desperate need of volunteers to deliver meals. Please contact the church office if you can help; we may be able to form a team. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated; it costs $700 per year to feed one person.
